Christmas Gift Wrapping Inspiration: How to Wrap Gifts?
Christmas is fast approaching, and we are probably wondering what gifts we could give our loved ones, as well as how to wrap them. Whether it is a meaningful or symbolic gift, small or large, what captures attention at first sight is the way it is wrapped. To inspire you and add an original touch to your gift, we have prepared several creative ways to wrap Christmas presents.
Before presenting some of our creative ideas, it is important to learn about the tradition of gift-giving and its significance. The most common version is that it dates back to the birth of Jesus, when the Magi brought the infant many gifts. In memory of the Magi’s gesture, people began giving gifts every Christmas Eve. On the other hand, we find that the tradition of gift-giving dates back to the time of empires, when people received gifts either as war rewards or as offerings intended to win favour. Nevertheless, this gift-giving tradition is associated with one particular figure – Santa Claus – who became famous in 1820 and has arrived every year ever since to bring us the much-awaited gifts.
Christmas gifts should be wrapped as authentically as possible and reach our loved ones safely. What could be more beautiful than a carefully wrapped gift placed under the decorated Christmas tree? We are here to help by presenting 4 creative gift-wrapping ideas that you could put into practice.
1. Wooden box for a wine bottle
We always consider a bottle of wine to be a perfect gift for Christmas Eve. We are sure to make an impression if we choose to give the wine in a simple and elegant wooden package. For additional bottle protection, we can fill the empty spaces in the box with a decorative element – wood wool.
2. Give your Christmas packaging a vintage touch
Wrapping a gift with kraft paper is very simple and effective. Wrapping paper creates a special feeling and is a versatile packaging material that ranks among the most durable types of wrapping paper. Add fir branches, cinnamon sticks or dried orange slices, then tie the entire package with hemp string. You will notice how all these colours and materials blend beautifully, creating an impressive result.
3. Use tissue paper for gifts
Tissue paper is an extremely fine paper with a matt appearance and a silky feel, suitable as packaging for cosmetics, jewellery, perfumes, floral arrangements and more. If these products are on your gift list, use coloured tissue paper as protective packaging together with a paper bag or cardboard box. You will add a touch of elegance to the gift you are preparing. Do not forget to add a self-adhesive label with the recipient’s name and a special Christmas message!
4. Send a personalised letter to your loved ones
If you want to send a kind thought to your loved ones or offer them an invitation, attach a letter to the Christmas gifts you have prepared. You can express all your gratitude, love or forgiveness in writing. You can place the letter in a windowless envelope and personalise it by sticking on various coloured paper shapes.
After considering all the ideas presented, all you need to do is make sure you wrap your Christmas gifts in good time and place them under the decorated tree for your loved ones to receive. They will certainly be delighted with the look of the beautifully prepared gifts!
